Patrick Smith Responds To Ice Bucket Challenge

Upon his return to the club, James Hird has joined his captain and chairman in participating in the Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise money for Motor Neurone Disease (MND).

Hird used the event to reconnect with the football media, nominating his ‘friend’ Patrick Smith to replicate the charitable stunt.

In response, Smith has issued the following statement:

‘I have previously been nominated by Kevin Bartlett and it is under consideration.

As nominator, James should have been aware of this pre-existing challenge.

If this nomination has been made with full knowledge his actions are contemptuous. If he has acted without a clear understanding of the situation this is yet another failure of governance.

Evidently, his Parisian junket has failed to instil in him the responsibility necessary to work within the AFL system.

I see no alternative but for James to resign immediately.’

Get on with it Patrick, MND is a far more important cause than any petty vendetta you might have toward another person.

Yeah, I’m just taking the piss. 🙂

It’s a pitiful reflection on the demise of the sad sad petty little man that such a parody is actually believable.
